Norinco was founded in 1942 in Calcutta, India by Sverre Gylseth, a Norwegian from Lofoten. The company began importing Norwegian commodities and industrial goods into India and represented companies such as Elkem, Borregard and Norsk Hydro in the very beginning.

The last 6 decades have seen Norinco grow in reputation and diversify its interests in the shipping, oil & gas and metallurgical industries by means of providing equipment, engineering, project management, services and manufacturing.

The company prides itself on building long and productive relationships with its clients and principals based on mutual trust, sales and engineering expertise and a deeply ingrained belief in delivering value to all stakeholders.
